Politicians…

Sometimes I just don’t understand how politicians that are against legalizing marijuana work. Whenever they go to address how “bad” it is, they say the word “drugs.” Well yes, DRUGS, are bad; cocaine, heroin, meth, etc. are bad, and they have nothing to do with the legalization of marijuana. Marijuana is an herb that has pretty astounding medical properties, which are demonstrated in the states with medical marijuana legalized. I think politicians are being hypocritical. This war on “drugs” has been going on for so long they are afraid to just accept the fact that marijuana is barely a drug. They don’t want to accept that it can help sick patients more than medicine synthesized by big name drug companies who only care about how much they can put in their pocket. They don’t want to just come out and say, “Sorry! We were wrong! Marijuana is no-where near as bad as we have been making it seem for so many years.”

Sure, it would be a pretty big blow to their political career to come out and say that they are all a bunch of liars. To be honest though, I really don’t want a bunch of lying politicians in my government positions.
